Contingent Ballet was born out of the need to continue to perform and keep the arts alive during this time. Contingent, meaning ‘subject to change’ has been most performing artists’ lives ever since the pandemic hit. We decided to bring together choreographer Melody Mennite, and dancers Silken Kelly, Emily Speed, and Jonatan Lujan to create a new work through untraditional means. Contingent Ballet works to introduce ballet to non-traditional audiences, bringing innovative choreography and dynamic visuals to the comfort of your own home.
